Stop Air Pollution in Our Cities – Protect Our Children’s Future

Petition To:

Prime Minister of India
Prime Minister • Government of India
Ministry of Environment
Minister • Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
Every year, millions of citizens are exposed to hazardous air quality levels far beyond safe limits recommended by the World Health Organization.

In many cities, AQI levels regularly cross 300–400, which falls under the “Severe” category. Schools shut down, hospitals report rising asthma and lung disease cases, and outdoor workers have no choice but to breathe toxic air daily.

Children are among the worst affected. Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to polluted air can cause:
Reduced lung development
Increased respiratory infections
Long-term heart and lung diseases
Weakened immunity
Despite recurring emergency measures, long-term solutions remain weak or poorly enforced.

We Demand:
Strict enforcement of industrial emission norms
Real-time public transparency of pollution sources
Transition incentives for cleaner public transport
Strong penalties for construction dust violations
Long-term clean energy investment and monitoring

Air pollution is not seasonal — it is systemic. It requires urgent, coordinated, and sustained action.

We cannot normalize children wearing masks to school.
We cannot normalize breathing poison.

Clean air is a constitutional and human right.

It is time for authorities to move from temporary measures to permanent solutions.
